Imani Peterson’s passion for dance began in childhood. Elite Academy in Salt Lake City was her second home as she trained tirelessly for over 10 years in ballet, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, ballroom, lyrical, and musical theater. During her high school years, she excelled as a competitive dancer. Imani has enjoyed winning many local and national titles, awards, and scholarships. While these awards have been a nice recognition of her hard work in the studio, Imani found her real love for dance lies in the high energy associated with commercial dance and the convention life. Some of Imani’s most exciting professional dance performances have been on Disney television and with the DreamWorks music video series. Locally she has performed as a seasonal dancer with Ballet West, one of the top professional ballet companies in America, and Odyssey Dance Theatre, a professional dance company that brings quality entertainment and artistic excellence in theatrical dance to Utah. The inspiration of surrounding yourself with a variety of talented professionals is why convention life is so important to her. Imani also spent two years participating on the Senior Company of a popular convention. This experience helped her discover her love of assisting and being a contributor to a nurturing, safe and challenging learning environment. Imani is thrilled to be aligned with the vision of LUX, a convention that speaks to her soul!
